Description
For wireless carriers in the U.S., backhaul has been a fairly simplistic and maintainable solution up until recent years. Earlier generations of cellular technologies allowed for traffic analysts to simply monitor and add TDM based copper DS1’s as needed to towers in order to meet traffic demands in that area. As times have rapidly changed, however, DS1’s can no longer be the end all solution for carriers. Newer approaches to backhaul and diverse solution options are creating a matrix of backhaul technologies that will be needed in order to efficiently migrate wireless carriers’ into the next generation of products and services for their customers.
