Some of the Government owned airports in India have not been able to meet international standards due to the lack of proper maintenance in the airport infrastructure. Airport Authority of India owns most of the airports in the country. The budget allocation for the airport infrastructure is done by the central government . This also is a major restraint for the upgrade and maintenance of airports.
