Major utilities in Sub Saharan Africa have embarked on a growth trajectory. The continent is facing acute power shortages and utilities have responded by instituting programs to increase their generation, transmission and distribution capacities. Over 60,000 MW of additional generation capacities is expected on-line by 2030. Significant upgrades and expansion of transmission and distribution networks are underway to improve the utilities' capacity to efficient supply power to the growing residential and industrial sectors.
