This study evaluates the choices that professional automotive technicians make when evaluating tools in the United States. Automotive technicians are experts who use many automotive tools and equipment over the course of each work day. Thus, automotive technicians are the core target group for these types of tools and it is important to understand their behavior and perceptions with regards to various types and brands of tools. The types of tools covered in this study are hand tools, power tools, handheld scan devices, and tool storage devices.
