This study encompasses an analysis of an online survey and follow up live meeting with 25 senior executives working in information technology across a variety of U.S. hospitals and healthcare organizations. The survey and meeting took place in late 2010. Most respondents hold the title of CIO, CMIO, CTO, or VP of Informatics and represent some of the most prestigious hospitals and healthcare systems in the country. The majority of respondents are acknowledged leaders in their fields and work at multi-site hospital systems operating in more than one state. Study topics include trends around EHR implementations, vendor selection, pricing trends, and physician adoption of EHRs as well as general feelings about Meaningful Use. Survey findings are benchmarked against some of the broader market trends that have emerged over the second half of 2010. A summary of key trends to look for in 2011 is also provided.
