This study provides U.S. automotive technicians' evaluations of brands in the hand tools, pneumatic/air tools, power tools, handheld scan devices, and tool storage devices segments. Additionally, distribution channel shares are estimated by brand in each product category. Finally, the importance of factors such as availability, durability, ease of ordering, order accuracy, price, quality, timely delivery, and warranty are evaluated.
Results are based on telephone interviews conducted with 400 technicians representing auto dealer service shops, collision repair shops, general repair shops, specialty repair shops, and tire dealers. The survey was conducted in March 2011. It follows similar surveys done in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
