Description

The Malaysian immunochemistry market is dominated by Roche, Siemens, and Beckman Coulter. Other participants are Becton Dickenson, Abbott, Sysmex, and some Chinese companies. The demand for immunochemistry tests in tertiary care hospitals is high. Automated equipment is preferred but some tier I and II hospitals operate on semi-automated chemistry analyzers. Public hospitals procure equipment using tenders, while reagents are purchased in batches 2–3 times a year. The demand for immunochemistry tests will grow, as communicable disease testing has increased and preventive tests are common.
