Description

This paper will examine the state of broadband, and will take a look at where we are with respect to the broadband world AT&T predicted in the short film called Connections from the early 1990s. It will examine the state of the various solutions and the likely adoption of those solutions. In particular, AT&T’s proposal to accelerate the deployment of an all IP network will be examined as a way to jump start the process of broadband growth. This SPIE will be of interest to carriers and their suppliers, as well as those who would participate in the public policy debates currently taking place.
