AMR vendors have introduced new AMR products that will significantly alter the AMR landscape for electric utilities in North America for mass market and C&I applications in anticipation of the continued strong demand for AMR products. Vendors expect utilites to purchase AMR systems that allow utilities to capture interval data and perform real time reads. Meter vendors are offering products that provide for flexibility in AMR deployment and that support demand response programs.
