Latin America has reached the declining stage in the market, since IP telephony begun to take a significant role in sales. Although this decline is expected to continue over the forecast period, the large installed base of PBX and the characteristics of the enterprise segment - large number of SME and a conservative approach to technology - still leave room for further growth, especially for smaller systems.

Although most vendors have shifted their focus to IP telephony solutions, their installed base of TDM systems and the possibility of gaining market share over competitor's installed base implies a deep look to the current composition of the traditional PBX market structure, in order to achieve success in the migration process to IP.
