The objective of this study is to analyze the development scenario of sustainable technologies for factory automation. It considers the market adoption scenario and opportunities emanating from upcoming applications. In addition, this study presents technology and application roadmaps, geographic factors favoring technology penetration. Technology implementation and industry initiatives are reviewed. The study includes impact assessment and analysis--technology drivers, challenges, opportunity evaluation and technology roadmapping. The study focuses on sustainable technologies applicable in the manufacturing process of a product life cycle wherein continuous and discrete industrial processes.
