Description

The aim of this study is to provide a strategic overview of the traditional and peer-to-peer carsharing market in North America. In the United States, original equipment manufacturers are entering the carsharing market through the launch and expansion of independent operations, or they are entering through partnerships with established participants. In Canada, growth has been driven by cooperative models of carsharing, resulting in more intense relationships with members and higher utilization. It introduces existing key participants and emerging participants in both traditional and partner-to-partner carsharing; further, it provides a comparative analysis on the carsharing market growth from 2009 to 2011, and offers forecasts to 2020.
