Network managed services (NMS) is considered as the major driver for growth within the IT field, as companies search for cost-effective and competitive strategies to realise business value and focus on core activities. The Nigerian NMS market is positioned for growth due to the liberalisation in the telecoms sector, where prices of mobile and fixed services have decreased, and the rapidly improving infrastructure. The uptake of NMS is therefore forecast to be high over the next five years with competition between service providers increasing. This study provides an overview of network managed services in Nigeria in the context of increasing service adoption by end-users.
