Vehicle survivability systems covers all protection systems developed to make an armoured vehicle survive battlefield threats and thereby provide protection to the crew inside. This research service places emphasis on Passive armour, Active Protection system and Electronic countermeasure systems. Hitherto vehicle survivability was seen from an layered survivability approach. However recently there has been a move towards integrated solutions to protect the vehicles against evolving threats. Thus a lot of effort to combine hardkill and softkill active protection system with inbuilt slew to cue capability and development of active visual and Infrared stealth technology and the like are underway.
