Frost & Sullivan believes about 4.5 Billion people globally will be living in cities by 2025. This represents about 60% of the total world population. Rising urban population will lead to rapid expansion of city borders into neighbouring suburbs resulting in the formation of MEGACITIES. There will 30 megacities with population above 10 million by 2025. About 55% of the world population will be living in the cities from emerging economies in the top 20 cities identified by Frost & Sullivan. Objective of the study is to understand the trends in these megacities and its impact on personal mobility and vehicle technology planning.
