Description

European manufacturing is at a crossroads. The growing dominance of emerging markets and the rapidly changing consumer landscape are spearheading a major manufacturing renaissance in the region. Though Europe has been at the forefront of manufacturing excellence—its manufacturing sector currently accounts for 15.0% of its GDP and 33 million jobs— global transitions, such as declining energy prices, diminishing resources, new competition from emerging markets and an aging workforce, have diminished its growth. Rejuvenation of the existing manufacturing setup is Europe’s key agendum to encouraging industrial growth in an effective, efficient, and sustainable manner. ‘Manufacturing in Europe’ analyses the transformative forces already at work in Europe’s manufacturing scenario.
