Description

The major driver behind IPTV or “telco TV” is a response to cable operators’ launching VoIP and creating a bundle of video, data and voice services. IPTV enables the telcos to leverage their DSL access networks and customer base with an additional video service to supplement voice and data offerings in order to stem losses and keep customers. Initially, the IPTV experience will be similar to the broadcast TV experience in order to attract customers to an enhanced experience and then over time, new applications will be introduced in an evolutionary fashion.
