The study provides an opportunity analysis on the value-added services (VAS) market in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA). VAS has been an effective tool to retain customers in the dominant mobile communications market of SSA. With the increasing deployment of VAS, VAS are becoming a new source of revenues of telecommunication service providers. The study provides analysis on the strategic objectives of offering VAS, VAS's impacts on operators' business models, future growth opportunities and best practices. The value of this study to network operators is relating to their future growth strategies around VAS.
