In October, 2008, the 110th Congress passed the Energy Improvement and Extension Act (EIEA), extending critical tax incentives for promoting the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The Production Tax Credits and Investment Tax Credits extension package established by the EIEA 2008 results from the commitment of the US government to address climate change issues by promoting the technological development and deployment of renewable energies.
