Numerous countries in the Middle East and Africa, along with Hungary, were targeted by a new malware strain called Flame in May 2012. The malware could initiate recordings on voice calls, take screen shots, sniff network activity, and steal credentials from keylogging actions. Flame is considered by many leading security vendors and government agencies to be one of the most sophisticated malwares ever created. It is clear that Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) will continue to increase in intensity, impacting organizations worldwide. We address APTs from a management and best practices standpoint, providing insight and guidance in handling these threats in order to reduce data loss.
