Description

The emerging Asia-Pacific region will continue to benefit from weakening oil prices through H1 as most of countries in the region are net oil importers. However, poor economic performance by large Asian economies such as China and Japan is expected to pose headwinds to trade prospects in the emerging Asia-Pacific region. The region is expected to maintain steady growth levels driven by investment and consumption. Although global financial volatilities continue to impact growth prospects in the emerging APAC region, improved labour market conditions, better political stability, and robust infrastructure growth are likely to keep growth momentum steady. The rising number of free trade agreements of the emerging APAC economies with key global economies is further expected to foster economic cooperation and improve foreign trade.
