This research service will analyze the World Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) markets, using 2005 as a base year. This research will be segmented by network intrusion detection/prevention systems (NIDS) and host-based intrusion detection/prevention systems (HIDS). Throughout the text, distinctions between the technologies will be made where appropriate, however, the market is generally referred to in total as the IDS/IPS market, or the intrusion market.
