Description

The commercial aircraft hydraulic power market consists of the pumps that produce the power, various storage and safety systems, and the controls that provide this power to the operating systems. As such, it is part of an integrated system of systems. The primary focus of this research was the provision of new components into new aircraft. This is a market strongly dominated by North American and European companies with most of the manufacturing occurring in those 2 regions. The newer aircraft are moving toward higher pressure systems which use lighter and smaller components. There is also a clear trend toward electro-hydraulic systems, which have only localized hydraulics.
