Description

World over, regulations have been governing particulate emissions from diesel engines for some time now. Post 2015, there will emphasis on emission reduction from gasoline engines as well because of the increased uptake of the Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) technology by all Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Europe leads the way in particulate emission control. Euro 6 is the first standard to impose a particulate number regulation on GDI engines. From 2017, all vehicles should emit less than 6x10 raised to 11 particles/km. To achieve this, some vehicles will require an exhaust after-treatment system such as a Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF). This study provides an in-depth analysis of the GPF market in Europe and North America.
