Description

In this brief, we take a deeper dive into the idea that the OSS/BSS industry is inverting: it is moving away from functionally organized systems into those that are organized around data and – more meaningfully at the business level – objects. We give a brief taste of what it means for OSS/BSS to be object-oriented, and then list the top service provider strategic priorities among all operators today. We also describe how each strategic priority is served by an object-oriented perspective and describe this industry refocus through co-operative movements such as that defined by the TeleManagement Forum’s (TMF’s) SID model for telecommunications.
