Smart windows are the next generation of green, energy-efficient windows. Several aspects can determine the characteristics of smart windows, such as automation, design, and their integration with green buildings; however, the most significant feature is its adaptability to changing conditions by the use of advanced glass that changes its properties according to climatic conditions or occupant preferences. The use of sensors and advanced connectivity are increasing the level to which the windows’ intelligence can be integrated into the automation of the smart building.
