Description

The growth outlook for the emerging APAC region for H2 2014 remains strong despite weaker growth in Q1 2014. Growth in the region picked up in Q2 2014, primarily driven by stronger export demand from the advanced economies and improved financial conditions that helped strengthen the domestic demand. While relatively low interest rates in the region are expected to bolster domestic demand, growing consumer confidence backed by strong equity market valuations is likely to favour investment through the year 2014. Overall growth, through 2014, in the emerging APAC region, is likely to remain resilient, partly due to favourable financial conditions and broadly accommodative policies.
