The Asia-Pacific network security market maintained a healthy growth momentum, recorded a YoY growth of 15.9% in Q1 2018. The YoY growth of first quarter was slightly slower as compared to the previous fourth quarter which was 19.1% YoY. The implementation and enforcement of regulatory requirements be it Cyber Security Law in China, Cyber Security Bill in Singapore or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) continue to drive network security market in Q1 2018.

In Q1 2018, the Healthcare, Government, and BFSI were the three fastest growing verticals in the market. The growing frequency and intensity of targeted attacks have driven the needs of organizations to minimize potential business risks and to ensure business continuity. The large business segment recorded a slightly stronger YoY growth at 16.3%, while the small and medium-sized business segment grew by 15.3% on a YoY basis. Large enterprises continue to dominate the network security market with a market share of 65.7%.
