The research service provides an analysis of the telecommunications market in South Africa, with the focus being on the journey of telecom operators in the country and where they are at the moment. The study highlights the challenges that the operators currently face, especially with the emergence of the over-the-top (OTT) service providers. A brief analysis of the OTT landscape in South Africa is provided. The study further discusses the main challenges that both OTT service providers and telecom operators face and tries to develop solutions that could enable them to work together.
