IT and security professionals face a challenging balancing act. First, they are tasked with facilitating user access in support of business requirements and aspirations (productivity, agility, innovation, and speed). Yet, unbridled access is inherently risky, as it unduly exposes sensitive and critical resources (data, applications, and systems) to compromise and theft, and raises the likelihood of regulatory compliance violations. This SPIE contains synopses of four representative access control solutions offered by Pulse Secure, Unisys, Akamai, and Google. Each represents a distinctive approach.
