The Nigerian electricity industry in the high growth stage. Substantial investments are expected to flow into the Nigerian electricity industry in response to the government's privatisation initiatives. At least 20 IPPs have already been licensed to participate in the Nigerian power sector. The number is expected to increase as more opportunities are availed. Current opportunities include concessions and/ or management contracts of the former state owned power companies, equipment supply to service the upgrading and expansion market and construction of new power plants.
