The Sub-Saharan African biofuels market is standing at the door of an exciting growth period. Most countries have made commitments to the reduction of greenhouse gasses under Kyoto protocol and biofuels is seen as a solution to this commitment. However, there are many challenges facing an industry that is currently under developed and where funding remains a problem. At the same time the potential economic activity increase that biofuels will stimulate is being seen as a major motivator for governments in the area to develop and implement favorable policies.
