Description

This study presents an assessment of the current status and prospects for the global market in materials used to produce head-to-toe disposable personal protective equipment (PPE). It considers market revenue from 2019 to 2025, recorded at the manufacturer level. The analysis explores market challenges and restraints, trends, and growth opportunities at a global level.

High-performance materials suppliers are making textiles (fibers and fabrics), plastics and elastomers, adhesives, and coatings available to fabricators of disposable protective products. These disposable PPE solutions are required to protect workers’ from biological and other health hazards and to prevent the transmission of biological and physico-chemical contaminants that live on surfaces that must remain clean, hygienic, and particle-free in specialized manufacturing and processing spaces.

Disposable PPE products (e.g., head covers, face masks, gowns, visors, gloves, and shoe covers) pose challenges in terms of relatively high environmental and waste disposal issues. Thus, sustainable and green materials, including soil/marine biodegradable and compostable materials, will experience increasing demand.

The industry is undergoing a surge in activities to leverage the business opportunities associated with technical textiles as well as polymeric and related materials, particularly to produce economically priced head covers, face masks, gowns, and shoe covers.
