Intelligent Mobility Summit, 2021: A Glimpse into the Future of MobilityFrost & Sullivan organized the 13th edition of its flagship Intelligent Mobility Summit 2021 on July 14 and 15, 2021. The focus of the two-day virtual summit was “Intelligent Mobility: Innovating to Zero” with the spotlight on the Asia-Pacific region. This year, the Summit brought together a stellar group of industry thought leaders, policymakers, investors and innovators. Over 25 panelists, each an expert in their domain, led insightful discussions on the dynamics underpinning the vision of “Innovating to Zero,” while over 2000 delegates, including automotive manufacturers and suppliers, fleet operators, logistics companies, mass transport authorities, research institutes, and mobility integrators actively participated in a curated lineup of webinars, panel discussions, and other online events.Theme IV: Key Trends in Circular Economy in AutomotiveAutomotive companies are adopting circular economy initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint, lower production costs, and make supply chains more sustainable. “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” practices will target carbon neutrality and zero waste even as companies leverage circular economy concepts to balance revenue imperatives with sustainability goals. Closed loop recycling, product life extension, plastic recycling technology, vehicle scrappage policies, and stationary energy storage systems will lend a fillip to circular economy practices. This session assessed how technological, regulatory and competitive trends feed into the larger framework of circular economy in the automotive system. What benefits do various circular economy practices support? What are some of the existing case studies that highlight the potential for using circular economy practices to drive business profits and competitive advantage?
