Next-Generation mobile content service launches have brought Digital Rights Management (DRM) into focus. While advanced business models for next-generation content pieces have emerged as a key differentiator for mobile operators, the onus lies on DRM solutions to ensure proper content monetization while enabling these models. This is not to say that DRM systems are not a critical requirement for premium content services such as ringtones, games and graphics, that will continue contributing a major share to mobile operators' next-generation mobile content services. DRM for both premium as well as next-generation mobile content services has been studied and analyzed in this study.
