In this report are firms aptly named Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP), who remotely monitor and manage Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), firewalls, and Virtual Private Networks (VPN) from their Secure Operating Center (SOC) or Network Operating Center (NOC). These services will be jointly classified as Real Time Monitoring, and will represent the first segment of the report. The second segment will be classified as Assessment Services, and will include the spot vulnerability assessment and penetration testing which generally precludes the monitoring of a client's network.
