The most significant trend in both email and web security markets is the acceleration of organizations migrating to the cloud. The cloud is driving new email security and web security strategies. Enterprises are interested in transitioning to cloud-delivered security to reduce cost/complexity, simplify security for mobile users, and adopt new capabilities.

Cloud adoption creates new challenges. Network administrators must deal with multiple device locations and access points. It is a heterogeneous environment with multiple vendors, and management typically decentralized. Migration to cloud-based services moves the service outside of an organization’s security perimeter, and potentially opens the organization up to more frequent and easier cyber-attacks.

In this report we will analyze the impact of cloud migration on email security and web security. The security solutions from certain vendors that are being developed to address the challenges of cloud migration will be presented. Email and Web security vendors are working on delivering more effective security tailored to the challenges of working in the cloud.
