The dynamic threat environment has made it difficult for enterprises to continuously validate whether their infrastructure and security controls remain effective. This is because traditional assessment methods, such as annual penetration tests, compliance audits, and vulnerability scanning, were not designed to address identity sprawl, threat complexity, or rapidly expanding attack surfaces. Automated security validation (ASV) has emerged as the solution to address this gap by enabling continuous testing and validation of an enterprise’s security controls in this ever-evolving environment. The ASV market is shaped by four subsegments: breach and attack simulation, automated penetration testing, red teaming automated platforms, and continuous exposure management. While these categories initially emerged independently, solutions share a common objective of continuously validating cyber readiness through automated and contextualized techniques and are increasingly converging into a unified ASV framework. This analysis benchmarks nine ASV vendors across 10 Growth and Innovation criteria to reveal their position on the Frost Radar™. The publication presents competitive profiles of each company, considering their strengths and the opportunities that best fit those strengths.
