Direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity and 3GPP NTN standards are reshaping the satellite IoT market. Release 17 enabled satellite NB-IoT through standard cellular modules, SIMs, and devices. The shift to 5G New Radio NTN supports higher-throughput, delay-sensitive services, such as direct-to-smartphone voice and broadband. Integrated platforms combine device management, data processing, and applications. Enterprise demand for simpler, scalable deployments is making connectivity one layer of a broader IoT solution. Traditional vendors now offer end-to-end IoT platforms, but many still rely on proprietary connectivity and are adopting D2D slowly. New entrants lead in 3GPP NTN-based D2D using cellular chipsets, while niche providers remain focused on specialized LPWA or proprietary systems. Frost & Sullivan independently evaluated the landscape and selected 11 companies to be benchmarked in this Frost Radar™. The carefully selected group stands out because they consistently deliver customer value, strengthen their growth pipelines, and scale the satellite IoT connectivity landscape.

Frost & Sullivan analyzes numerous companies in an industry. Those selected for further analysis based on their leadership or other distinctions are benchmarked across 10 Growth and Innovation criteria to reveal their position on the Frost Radar™. The publication presents competitive profiles of each company on the Frost Radar™ considering their strengths and the opportunities that best fit those strengths.
