Description

This research pertains to the global drone in a box (DiaB) market. A DiaB system includes a self-contained charging and control station for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is protected from the elements by a retractable door apparatus. DiaB systems contain sensors and subsystems that enable autonomous precision takeoff and landing, data transfer, and communications. Some DiaB systems recharge the UAV while others contain mechanisms for conducting battery swaps.

This Frost Radar™ evaluates only DiaB competitors whose systems include a proprietary drone that is never sold as a stand-alone solution. Therefore, companies such as H3Dynamics and Skycharge are not included because their DiaB solutions can be used with several off-the-shelf (OTS) drones. In addition, companies such as Avy, Easy Aerial, and Gadfin are not included because they sell their drones platforms as stand-alone units with the box as an upgrade option.
