Singapore’s mobile industry experienced good growth in recent years. The number of mobile subscribers grew by 22.8% from 6.8 million in 2009 to 8.4 million in 2013. However, in 2014, the number of subscribers declined by almost 4% to 8.1 million because of the regulatory controls announced by Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. Mobile subscriber penetration has improved from 138.6% in 2009 to 147.9% in 2014.
