Indian automotive industry is on a roll since past few years. Many international brands such as Audi, BMW, GM, Volvo, Ducati, Harley Davidson etc have entered the Indian Automotive space. The mineral engine oil market is a mature market while synthetic engine oil market has a promising future. There is new concept of "Fill and Forget" that drives the synthetic lubricant growth in India. The engine oil market is estimated to be around 900KT. Commercial sector has maximum consumption of engine oils whereas the passenger vehicle segment has a lower engine oil consumption. Castrol and Servo engine oils secure the first two positions in the engine oil market followed by HPCL, BPCL and others.
