Description

Digital transformation has already become imperative for enterprises to gain a competitive edge. Enterprises, ahead in the digital transformation curve, are driving business transformation and innovation through the adoption of digital technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things, mobility, and analytics. Data traffic is increasing rapidly with the growing adoption of hybrid cloud, bandwidth-intensive applications, and other digital technologies. This exponential growth in data traffic is creating immense pressure on legacy enterprise networks, and it is becoming difficult to cope with increasing network complexities. Enterprises are facing multiple challenges within their enterprise networking environment. A few of the challenges are as follows:
• Continuous increase in network complexity due to adoption of hybrid networking
• Immense load on traditional networks due to an increase in the usage of bandwidth-intensive applications
• Increase in the cost of network deployment and refresh
• Lack of consistency in network service quality across different regions

Enterprises in India are now looking to upgrade and modernize their corporate network and want their network to have the ability to change network policies automatically as per the requirement of workloads and applications of the organization. The companies also want greater ability to control and oversee the network performance to the extent of bandwidth allocation toward a particular application. The network should have a centralized control so that automatic, real-time, and dynamic configuration and bandwidth allocation can be performed as per the requirement of applications and workloads. Enterprises would also want the network capabilities that are easy to expand and deploy in newer branches/capacities. To make the business more agile and flexible, enterprises require to evolve from an equipment-centric networking approach to an on-demand networking approach that will enable them to extensively increase their reach or modify services to meet business requirements. Such evolving network requirements and challenges put immense pressure on traditional networks. Therefore, enterprises are looking for more intelligent, robust, and flexible network solutions to cope with the agility and velocity of dynamic hybrid IT environments. SD-WAN is expected to be the answer to these requirements and challenges.
