Autonomous driving technology is still a new concept for countries that belong to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). However, the potential benefits of this technology are expected to significantly impact freight transport. With government support, autonomous driving is likely to be the catalyst of improvements in the trucking sector of the auto industry. This research provides insights into how autonomous trucking will impact inter-city and intra-city logistics, warehouses, and distribution in ASEAN countries. It also highlights potential benefits such as reduced logistics cost and improved fuel efficiency and possible challenges involved in the implementation of autonomous driving.
