Freshwater scarcity is one of the most critical challenges faced by industries, and is posing a major threat to the environment, water security, and economic growth. To meet the demand for freshwater, industries are increasingly employing recovery and wastewater recycling. Compared to conventional wastewater treatment methods, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) is an expensive, yet highly efficient treatment process.
