India recorded a significant dip in E3W sales in FY 2021 compared to FY 2020 due to the pandemic, which affected vehicle sales worldwide. However, the country registered growth in the E3W cargo segment in FY 2021 over FY 2020 because the pandemic created a demand for last-mile services and the e-commerce segment.

Home-based charging, semi-public and public charging, and battery swapping are the charging solutions evolving in India as more operators enter the market. The government supports original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other players entering the E3W market, shared mobility and last-mile services, and fintech firms with incentives and policy revisions.

In this study, Frost & Sullivan assesses the E3W market in India and provides a market overview in 2021, including sales snapshots. The report defines current and future market trends, government regulations, charging infrastructure, and OEM profiles and their growth strategies.
