An End-user Perspective
Laboratory personnel were invited to participate in an online survey in June 2014. A total of 366 laboratory decision makers qualified to complete the survey, answering questions about their use of laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Respondents’ organization types include academic laboratory or core facility; federal, state, or local government laboratory; pharmaceutical or biotechnology company; industrial company; hospital or clinical laboratory; and diagnostics or biobank. Respondents provided information related to their preferred suppliers, satisfaction levels, types of systems used, applications, tasks performed, product prices, importance of product features, challenges faced, satisfaction levels, and unmet needs.
