This study provides an in-depth examination of recent advancements in next-generation terahertz (THz) imaging and sensing technologies and their increasingly transformative impact across healthcare diagnostics and security-related applications. It focuses on how emerging THz systems, enabled by significant progress in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs), integrated photonics platforms, and AI-assisted data analytics, are establishing a new paradigm for non-ionizing, high-resolution, and material-penetrating imaging solutions.
