The North American cabinets market is expected to show significant growth during the forecast period. Indoor cabinets occupy the majority share in the North American market because of their widespread use in datacenter applications. While indoor cabinets are a commodity with a considerable volume market, outdoor cabinets are still a premium product that requires customization and better security, especially for applications such as transportation, utilities (water), and oil and gas. Datacenters are a key application for the indoor cabinets market and account for a majority of the revenue, whereas telecom applications dominate the outdoor cabinets market. However, because telecom applications are project based, demand can fluctuate substantially. In addition, retrofitting old cabinets with the development of 3G and 4G networks is expected to boost the growth for cabinets in the telecom vertical.
