This study is a survey of the global fixed satellite services market for the United States military and government markets. The study treats separately demand from the Department of Defense and from the non-military (federal, state, local) civilian government.
The report discusses the markets’ drivers and restraints. We compare current and future military demand with dedicated military capacity in order to determine the degree to which the military will have to rely on the latter. We describe other market dynamics such as the potential market effects of frequency consolidation. Finally, we forecast the markets’ sizes and growth rates through 2009 and estimate current market share among FSS satellite operators.
